Effective inventory management requires reserved stock quantities to accurately reflect active customer orders. When sales documents remain unfinished and no further action is taken, the ERP system continues to reserve the corresponding inventory. This can limit product availability for new orders and reduce the efficiency of sales and warehouse operations.
To address this challenge, ITC Consult has developed an application for the automated release of reserved quantities from uncompleted sales, fully integrated with ERP.net.
The application automatically monitors unfinished sales transactions and releases reserved quantities once the predefined validity period has expired. For each transaction, the system follows customer-specific business rules and checks whether any activity has occurred within the configured timeframe.
If no activity is detected before the expiration period, the application generates a technical "empty" sales document that automatically releases the reserved inventory. As a result, the products become immediately available for processing new customer orders without requiring manual intervention.
By automating this process, organizations reduce blocked inventory, improve warehouse utilization and ensure faster and more efficient order fulfillment.
