The ITC Consult team has developed a new „Product Code“ module for Odoo that extends the system’s standard capabilities for managing product identifiers. The solution enables product codes to be generated automatically based on predefined criteria, formulas and the company’s specific requirements.
In Odoo each product has its own internal identifier and can also have a barcode. The new module adds the ability to create an additional product code whose structure is determined by specific characteristics and rules.
Different groups and criteria can be configured to generate the product code. Based on the selected characteristics, the system generates the corresponding code according to predefined logic.
This allows the structure of product codes to be aligned with the way each company organizes and identifies its products.
The „Product Code“ module integrates company-specific product code generation rules directly into Odoo. This makes the required logic an integral part of product information management within the system.
The solution is suitable for companies that use specific criteria and dependencies when creating product identifiers and want to automate this process in Odoo.
