The ITC Consult team has developed a specialized sheet metal cutting module for the Odoo ERP system, designed for manufacturing companies where sheet metal cutting is part of the production process. The solution provides operators with a convenient way to record completed cutting operations and store the related information directly in the system.
The module extends Odoo’s manufacturing functionality with additional capabilities specifically tailored to the cutting process. The information is linked to the relevant manufacturing orders and work orders, allowing completed operations to be easily tracked at a later stage.
The module is integrated with manufacturing orders, work centers and operations in Odoo. Companies can configure in advance the work centers and machines involved in production, as well as the individual operations that a product goes through.
The module’s functionality is enabled for specific cutting operations. This ensures that it is used only where needed while remaining an integral part of the overall manufacturing process in Odoo.
Once a manufacturing order is started, the relevant work operations are made available to the operator through Odoo’s Shop Floor interface, where they can view the tasks that need to be performed.
When carrying out a „Cutting“ operation, the operator can enter information about the cutting performed and the corresponding quantities.
The module also includes calculation capabilities related to the dimensions and weight of the sheet metal being cut. This allows the information required for a specific operation to be recorded directly during the execution of the work order.
A sketch related to the cutting operation can also be added. The operator can attach an image from their computer or draw a diagram directly in the system. This makes it possible to store visual information alongside the details of the completed operation whenever needed.
The module supports a Cutting History, where information about completed cutting operations is stored. The history allows users to track data by date, product, manufacturing order and lot, as well as information about the quantity cut. Filtering options are also available, making it easier to find specific records. This keeps information about completed cutting operations accessible in one place and available for reference whenever necessary.
The sheet metal cutting module has been developed for companies where such operations are part of the manufacturing process. It complements Odoo’s standard manufacturing functionality by providing a specialized way to record and track information related to cutting operations.
