Students from the “Finance and Accounting” program at Plovdiv University “Paisii Hilendarski” had the opportunity to get acquainted with ERP systems as well as other business software solutions, thus gaining insights into real business practices and case studies.
The lecture was delivered by Stefan Nikolov, a long-time expert in the field and owner of the software company ITC Consult. His visit to the university was initiated by Prof. Dr. Stanimir Kabaivanov, Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences.
Stefan Nikolov presented the advantages of using ERP systems in accounting. During his lecture, he introduced the students to ERP as software used for accounting purposes, as well as the main differences and benefits of this class of systems.
“The role of the accountant is becoming increasingly important in the modern business environment. There are now numerous software solutions that automate a large part of the processes. However, this does not mean that accountants are becoming obsolete. On the contrary, their role is changing, and they are expected to help businesses develop and make the right decisions to achieve sustainability,” shared Stefan Nikolov with the future young accountants.
In recent years, the software company ITC Consult has been developing a long-term strategy to support education in Bulgaria. The team of specialists participates in various specialized trainings to assist students in their education and provide them with the opportunity to experience a real business environment. Representatives of ITC Consult are guest lecturers at Plovdiv University “Paisii Hilendarski,” Sofia University of Technology, and the Higher School of Insurance and Finance. Experts from the software company are also regular instructors for the courses “Enterprise Resource Management Systems” and “Implementation of Business Management Systems” in the unique master’s program “Business Software and ERP Platforms,” which ERP Academy implements in collaboration with the Higher School of Insurance and Finance.
